FYE & FENNEK release their last single, ‘Femmoumen’ along with their album, ‘Destruct Pop.’ The song talks about gender fluidity, and embracing that whether male or female, we all are a mix of what’s considered masculine/feminine. The track is an ode to acceptance of united opposites. Front woman FYE’s voice comes through in a deeper tone, and a piano and synthesizer work to create a danceable beat. The full album likewise fuses several components together to create one, ‘destructed pop’ whole. ‘Destruct Pop’ is FYE & FENNEK’s second album. The duo’s music and lyrics reflect an almost insatiable longing for freedom and light-heartedness, while at the same time harboring a deep awareness of the here and now. It’s all about the deliberately induced loss of control. FYE likes to experiment with her voice – sometimes quiet and fragile, sometimes loud and irrepressible, sometimes bound, sometimes rap-like. Producer FENNEK plays the keyboard of virtual synths with equal virtuosity and is the rhythmic backbone of the duo with his artfully crafted beats, which sometimes sound fat, sometimes filigree.
